This owner called us to their new home in Waterford, WI for a free water analysis.  We found the water was 22 grains hard and also had 2 ppm of iron.  This is not unusual levels of hardness or iron for Racine or Waukesha County.  We installed a Soft Water, Inc. Fleck Control 5600sxt "on demand" metered 49,500 grain capacity water softener.  It also has a 320# capacity salt storage tank.  This softener will soften the water and should remove the iron from the water as well.  This was a new home that was plumbed with a mix of copper and cpvc plumbing.  One of our licensed master plumbers did this installation and the customer is happy with the results, the service and now has water that is both soft water and iron free.

The first picture is the Fleck single handle stainless bypass with a 1" shut-off (no cheap ball valves at Soft Water, Inc).  The second is out drain line work which is cpvc and anchored to the wall.  We are not sure why anyone would still use the old flexible tubing, other than it is cheaper.
